We are reuniting our Brexit trio of Sam Lowe (Trade), Anna Jerzewska (Customs) and Richard Asquith (VAT) to give you a live autopsy on Brexit from the other side of 31 December 2020. Anna Jerzewska
Dr Anna Jerzewska is the founder and CEO of Trade and Borders, a London and Geneva based customs and international trade consultancy. She has a combination of private sector, policy and academic experience. In recent years her main clients have included the United Nations’ International Trade Centre, British Chambers of Commerce, and assorted private sector firms and governments. She is an Associate Fellow of The UK Trade Policy Observatory (UKTP).
Richard Asquith
Richard Asquith is the former VP Global Indirect Tax at Avalara, helping businesses understand their compliance obligations as they grow globally. Richard qualified as an accountant with KPMG in the UK, and went on to work in Hungary, Russia and France with EY.
Ruby Buckland
Ruby Buckland has 20 years of experience in indirect taxes and tax management consulting. She is a Sales Director in the EMEA practice and works with Enterprise and Mid-Market businesses to determine their needs and potential fit with Avalara global solutions. Prior to joining Avalara Ruby worked at two of the Big 4 firms on tax technology implementations, indirect tax strategy and outsourcing engagements.
Sam Lowe
Sam Lowe is a senior research fellow at the Centre for European Reform. He works on trade issues, with a focus on Brexit, customs and regulatory barriers. Prior to joining the CER, he led work on trade, Brexit and environmental issues for Friends of the Earth and is a co-founder of the UK Trade Forum.
Patrick Frith
Patrick is a Supply Chain expert who has spent over 20 years managed global trade and customs compliance operations for SME to Global customers with DHL Express and SF Express, based in Europe, Asia, Middle East, North and Central America. Patrick is a global trade enthusiast on a mission to use his “global logistics” background to eliminate cross-border bureaucracy for companies of all sizes.
Ianthe Spillemaeckers
Ianthe is a member of Avalara's EMEA VAT sales team, helping businesses understand their VAT liabilities and how Avalara's solutions can support compliance. She has multiple years experience as a VAT consultant, working as part of the Avalara team as well as with Deloitte in Belgium.
